A flux compressor was a device that was used to charge smoke payloads with electromagnetic impulses, which could disable droids and other electronics. Flux compressors were a key component in constructing ion smoke grenades.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] a flux compressor had been stored in a smuggler hideout on a cliff overlooking Lake Amari on the Outer Rim Territories planet Akiva.[1]
