An ion charge was a missile-type that carried an ion payload used to breach and disable enemy defensive systems.[1]

Aphra and Darth Vader utilized an ion charge during their assault on Cylo's base. Their ion charge, launched by Aphra from Vader's J-type 327 Nubian, caused an ion blast in the base's control room, rendering circuits, doors and communications inoperative.[1]
