There was an Imperial garrison on the planet Garrthinius by the time of the Battle of Endor, which enforced the rule of the Galactic Empire on the planet's population. The garrison base had an unusual modular layout, and included a detention area.

This section of the article assumes completion of a roleplaying game adventure seed or suggestion.

At some point in the month between the Battle of Endor and the founding of the New Republic,[1] in 4 ABY,[2] the Rebel Alliance responded to local revolutionaries' request for assistance in overthrowing the Empire. The garrison was enforcing martial law that had been declared on the planet, and had several revolutionary leaders in custody.[1]
