The Imperial calendar was a standardized dating system used in the Galactic Empire.[1] Contrary to the Great ReSynchronization calendar that was a 12-month/368-day calendar,[2] the Imperial calendar was a 10-month/368-day calendar. The Imperial calendar rigorously respected the formal definition of the standard year, namely 10 standard months of 35 days + 3 festival weeks + 3 holidays.[1] Despite the diffusion of the Imperial calendar in the Imperial Space,[1][3] the Great ReSynchronization calendar remained the most used calendar during the Imperial Era.[4]
In the Tapani sector, the Imperial calendar was only used when dealing with the outside galaxy while the local Tapani calendar was used for domestic affair. Nevertheless, the Tapani calendar was slightly adjusted to match the Imperial calendar.[1]
