"The Imperial Office of Customs has announced new technologies - making it easier to detect contraband in smuggling vessels. These new methods are being field-tested at Hosnian Prime spaceports, with wider applications expected within the next few months."

The Imperial Office of Customs,[2] also known simply as Imperial Customs,[1] was a division of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order that ensured all importers and exporters operated in full compliance with the Galactic Empire's laws and regulations. Its agents routinely used TIE Boarding Crafts to access freighters, inspect cargoes, and maintain authority.[2] When he was still a smuggler, the Sullustan Nien Nunb had to deal with Imperial Customs when caught by Star Destroyers on many occasions.[1] It is unknown what their relationship was to Imperial Boarding Inspection and Customs.
