A type of standard armor was worn by Imperial Army troopers, the ground troops of the Galactic Empire.
Description
The armor of an Imperial Army trooper corporal
The armor consisted of shoulder plates, bicep armor, a breastplate and a helmet with goggles, or alternatively an Imperial kepi, all worn atop an Imperial Army uniform.[2] The goggles could also be worn with the kepi.[3] The armor resembled that of Imperial officer battle armor, although the breastplate was of a simpler design, lacking the lining around the outer edge, and troopers wore additional plates of armor as well as the breastplate and helmet.[1] The military rank of corporal could be denoted on the armor by a single white stripe on the left shoulder plate.[2]
Swamp trooper armor had additional plates protecting the shins.[1] This armor used a red plate on the right bicep to indicate standard troopers, and a white plate to indicate medics.[4] Imperial security troopers wore shin plates and a flared helmet in black with blue-lensed goggles, along with the rest of the armor worn by other Army troopers.[5] Furthermore, Juggernaut Pilots wore similar armor to swamp troopers, albeit with a helmet resembling that of Imperial combat assault tank pilots. This armor also used a red plate on the right bicep to indicate rank.[6]
