Impeding Assault Tank

The Impeding Assault Tank (IAT), also known as the Umbaran crawler tank, was a crawler tank created by the Umbaran people that looked like a giant mechanical centipede. A horrifying vehicle capable of traveling underground, it was used during the Battle of Umbara, a conflict that occurred during the Clone Wars when Republic forces attacked Umbarans on their home planet who had sided with the Separatist Alliance. The IAT had a laser cannon on the back of each segment. During the battle, IATs emerged from the ground and inflicted heavy casualties on the 501st Legion. The clone troopers destroyed one of the crawlers by firing at the front viewport with RPS-6 rocket launchers.^[4]
