The Incom Corporation I-10 Howlrunner was an attack starfighter, and the successor to the Imperial-used I-7 Howlrunner short-range starfighter. During Operation Shadow Hand, Executor Sedriss QL used one of these starfighters when the Dark Empire attacked a New Republic listening outpost on the Fourth Moon of Nuhatu, and later again during the Battle of Entarr.[1]

Characteristics

"Incom Howlrunner, nice lookin' ship... The Empire doesn't give the really sinister looking hardware to just anybody"
Wedge Antilles[1]

While not much is described about the design of the I-10 Howlrunner in Star Wars: Lightsider, it was described by Wedge Antilles as being a "nice looking" but "sinister" ship. The I-10 was also noted for being bigger that the I-7s, but how much bigger it was not made clear, except that it could carry a few additional passengers. At least Sedriss QL's personal I-10 Howlrunner, Eliminator-1, was described as having a sleek black-colored exterior.

The I-10 Howlrunner sported turbolaser cannons instead of laser cannons like its I-7 predecessor. During the Battle of Entarr, these turbolasers were shown capable of instantly destroying T-65 X-Wings and E-Wings with ease, despite their robust shields. The starfighter was also durable enough to withstand the sonic wave of a hyperspace miscalculation while maintaining full functionality.[1]

Behind the scenes

The I-10 Howlrunner appeared within the cancelled Lightsider storyline by Tom Veitch, which was publicly released by author Joseph Bongiorno as online PDFs on his website starwarstimeline.net.[2]
