A hyperwave scanner was a type of device that could be equipped on starships. The crew of the pirate captain captured a former Confederacy of Independent Systems frigate owned by the pirate Gruk in order to use its hyperwave scanner to track down other derelict Separatist starships. Ithano's mechanic, Reveth, boosted the hyperwave scanner using the asteroid fortress of Meerou Woodring, which Ithano had simultaneously taken control of.[1]
