Hyderson's proof was a mathematical proof the scientist Avon Starros was familiar with.[1] In 232 BBY,[2] during the High Republic Era, while Starros was among a group stranded on the Outer Rim moon Wevo, she attempted to explain Hyderson's proof to the Dalnan boy Honesty Weft after the two Jedi accompanying them, Vernestra Rwoh and Imri Cantaros, had left their cave to investigate other people they had sensed on the moon.[1]

As Starros was in the middle of her explanation of the proof, Weft—who was grieving the recent passing of his father—retreated to his corner of the cave to sulk. Afterward, as the scientist paced about in the cave, she mentally recalled trying to explain Hyderson's proof to Weft and his reaction, leading her to conclude that he had no head for mathematics.[1]

Behind the scenes

Hyderson's proof was mentioned in the 2021 junior novel The High Republic: A Test of Courage, written by Justina Ireland and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[3]
