Hrchek Kal Fas was a Saurin male droid trader from the planet Durkteel. He employed the scavenger Nevar Yalnal as a laborer and his cousin, Sai'torr Kal Fas, was his bodyguard.
Biography
Hrchek Kal Fas was a Saurin[1] male[2] native to the[1] Mid Rim[3] planet[2] Durkteel. Kal Fas, a typical droid trader, scouted the "invisible market" for the best droid prices. Kal Fas employed his[1] Saurin cousin, Sai'torr Kal Fas, as a bodyguard,[4] and also employed the Ranat scavenger Nevar Yalnal as a laborer.[5] When he was on the[6] planet[2] Tatooine, Kal Fas frequented Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina[6] in the spaceport city Mos Eisley.[7]
In 0 BBY,[8] while in Mos Eisley, Kal Fas read a posting that noted a reward for finding two lost droids that belonged to the Galactic Empire. The post stated that the pair had been stolen from a high officer who desperately wanted them back because they were close companions. The post was an obvious lie, and the droids[1]—protocol droid C-3PO and astromech droid R2-D2—actually belonged to Princess Leia Organa.[9]
A thirsty[10] Kal Fas visited Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina,[9] wisely keeping his bodyguard with him[11] and standing at the bar, when the moisture farmer Luke Skywalker and the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi entered the cantina, searching for a pilot to take them, C-3PO, and R2-D2 to the planet Alderaan.[9] Kal Fas nearly found the droids and captured them[12] before bartender Wuher ordered the droids out.[9] He slowly followed[1] C-3PO,[6] trying not to attract attention, but by the time he made it to the door of Cantina, the droid had disappeared into the crowded streets.[1]
Personality and traits
Kal Fas was a tough Saurin[11] who had tan skin and black eyes.[2]
Equipment
Kal Fas wore a green shirt, a tan jacket, silver gloves, dark blue pants, and a pair of black boots.[9] He utilized a blaster pistol which he kept in a black holster.[6]
Behind the scenes
Although uncredited, Hrchek Kal Fas was played by Laurie Goode.[13]
