Hound-W2 SPD

The Hound-W2 SPD was a security droid from the Scanning Patrol Detail series developed by Industrial Automaton. They were rectangular shaped and about half the height of an astromech droid.

Characteristics

They moved on wheels and had four extendable arms that could reach out to a distance of 15 meters. The arms were tipped with various sensors, such as a laser scan emitter, a pulse scan emitter, and a thermal imager. They did not have a vocabulator and could only communicate via Droidspeak, which was considered their only negative point. They were among the best security droids on the market.^[1]

History

Hound-W2s were frequently used at security checkpoint and tasked with detecting illegal materials, like spice or explosives. They were used to sweep the Grand Corridor looking for Delta Source.^[1]
