"Zak and Tash Arranda! What are you up to?"
―The droid[1]

A droid served the researcher Hoole and his wards, Zak and Tash Arranda. At one point, when the two Arrandas became distracted after being tasked by Hoole with researching energy spiders, the droid went to remind them of their job. The two returned to Hoole's starship, but later slipped away during the night to investigate a nearby cave. While there, the Arrandas had an encounter with a group of cultists, but were able to escape. The droid subsequently found the two, questioning what they were doing.[1]

Behind the scenes

Hoole's droid first appeared in the new Star Wars canon, Hoole first appeared in the comic story "Tales of Villainy: Grave Digger," written by Dave Scheidt, illustrated by Stefano Simeone, and published in Star Wars Adventures 10 by IDW Publishing[1] on September 29, 2021.[2] Though the droid was not named in the comic, it is the counterpart to[1] DV-9, Hoole's droid in the Star Wars Legends continuity, who debuted in the 1997 novel Galaxy of Fear: Eaten Alive, written by John Whitman.[3]
