Hastmon Chross was a Lannik professor at the Galactic Academy of Sciences during the High Republic Era.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] Chross taught a class to Avon Starros, and gave her an assignment to analyze reasons attempted cures for the blight failed, which Starros found ludicrous. Chross was dismissive of Starros due to her lack of publicly-known accomplishments and believed she was unqualified to work on high-level theorizing. Starros found him patronizing. After the blight was cured on Kashyyyk, Starros discussed the occurrence with Chross, who insisted that it must have involved a scientific cure of some kind, despite Starros's explanations to the contrary.[1]
