The Hammer was a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon that was operated by clone trooper commander Thorn during the Clone Wars. It doubled as a melee weapon, as demonstrated by Thorn on Scipio. Though he fought fiercely and took down many droids, he was finally overwhelmed by droids, and he was shot to death in the chest.
Behind the scenes
The Hammer was created by Dave Filoni and the story team of Star Wars: The Clone Wars as an homage to Mjolnir, the Hammer weapon wielded by Thor in Marvel Comics' movie The Avengers. The Hammer was stated to be introduced in The Clone Wars: Season Five, but was moved to The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions alongside the episode it was set to debut in, "Crisis at the Heart."
