- "OH, and I should introduce you to an associate of mine from the Corellia Times. He is going to aid me with this story while I'm still recovering. Be sure to speak with him for guidance."
- ―Vani Korr, to a spacer
Halden Wes was a Human male reporter for the Corellia Times who lived on Corellia during the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
- "What I mean is, this is a Corellia Times story and we deserve credit. Our news isn't widely distributed off planet. If a larger syndicated news service got wind of this I'd miss....I mean the Times would miss its chance."
- ―Halden Wes, to a spacer
After the Battle of Yavin, Halden Wes was based in Corellia's capital of Coronet. He assisted fellow reporter Vani Korr in her investigation of the fanatical technology-hating Meatlump criminals.[1]
In 1 ABY,[3] he started to work with a spacer who previously worked with Vani Korr to identify the location of the Meatlump Hideout.[1] Wes dispatched the spacer to find Meatlumps camps on Corellia but also outside their home planet. The adventurer discovered that the Meatlumps had established camps near the cities of Tyrena, Kor Vella and Doaba Guerfel on Corellia, Nashal on Talus, Theed and Moenia on Naboo, Narmle on Rori, Nym's Stronghold on Lok, and near Wayfar and Mos Taike on Tatooine. Halden Wes and the spacer realized that the Meatlumps had gathered large amounts of supplies to those camps, including food, weapons and explosives. As it appeared that the criminals were planning important operations on those worlds, the spacer suggested warning the authorities, while the ambitious Wes argued they could get credit, and Corellia Times as well, for foiling the Meatlump plans. The reporter finally paid the adventurer a good price to raid the Meatlump camps. The spacer therefore traveled to those worlds, attacked the Meatlumps and sacked the camps.[2]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
