The Meatlump Hideout was the headquarters of the Meatlump Gang on the planet Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War. It was located within abandoned maintenance tunnels beneath Coronet City.

The Meatlump Hideout was used by the gang of technology-hating terrorists known as the Meatlumps. They had managed to keep the existence and the location of their hideout totally secret.[1]

The hideout was located beneath the streets of Corellia's capital city of Coronet, within some abandoned maintenance tunnels. The hideout was made of multiple rooms and tunnels over several floors. The main entrance was located at the lowest flour of some kind of abandoned warehouse in Coronet.[1]

The largest room of the hideout served as a "throne room" for the Meatlump King, the fabled leader of the Meatlumps whose existence was as mysterious as the Meatlump Hideout itself. The king held court here for his followers.[3]

The Meatlump Hideout was infested by with rodents, including meetles and worrmps.[4]

Sometime following the Battle of Yavin, the activities of the Meatlumps were investigated by the Corellia Times journalist Vani Korr.[5] In 1 ABY,[6] she recruited an adventurer to help her in her investigation. The spacer encountered the Meatlump Lieutenant Kaiya Merel and pretended to want to join the gang. The traveler lured the Meatlump lieutenant and, after some successful missions, was eventually accepted among the Meatlumps.[7] Kaiya Merel gave to her new recruit full access to the secret Meatlump Hideout.[1] The spacer was one of the few non-Meatlumps who entered the Meatlump Hideout and finally encountered the Meatlump King. The information gathered in the hideout allowed Vani Korr to finalize her article Who are the Meatlumps?. She revealed the presence of the Meatlump Hideout below the streets of Coronet and the existence of the Meatlump King.[3]

Beyond the Meatlump King, other Meatlumps operating in the hideout following the Battle of Yavin included Hraykken Bender, Snugli Explevey, Recruiter Joe, Balia Alloo, Chef Schlump, Assistant Chef Schlap, Lieutenant Dorvin Kanu, Lieutenant Cyru Sarkee, Captain Loman Vosso, Decider Ximo Tacx, Newin Seedel, Captain Coptszt, Gitchur Lumpback, and two Meatlump droolers.[8]

Behind the scenes

The Meatlump Hideout was a location in the 2003 massively multiplayer online roleplaying game Star Wars Galaxies,[1] prior to the game's closure on December 15, 2011.[9] The Meatlump Hideout was added to the game with the update dubbed "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King," released on June 19, 2008.[10]

The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
