A gyroball was a type of toy ball owned by Corl, a male native of the planet Toprawa. Corl loved the ball and refused to let anyone else touch it under any circumstances, including cleaning droids.[1] By 2 ABY,[2] after Corl and most of his family perished in an accident on Toprawa, Sila Kott, the last living member of the family, realized that Corl's gyroball belonged solely to her.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, a gyroball was mentioned in flashbacks in the 2023 short story "The Last Flight," written by Ali Hazelwood and published in the anthology From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi.[1] Gyroballs originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, appearing in the 2008 novel Coruscant Nights I: Jedi Twilight, written by Michael Reaves.[3]

- ↑ Sila Kott learning of Corl's death, as depicted in a flashback in "The Last Flight," takes place before Kott joined the Rebel Alliance. As "The Last Flight" establishes that Kott was a member of the Alliance for at least two years before the Battle of Endor, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 4 ABY, the flashback must take place by 2 ABY.
