The greddleback termite was a five-centimeter-long insect whose primary food source was the wood of a hanava tree. Greddlebacks infested Bethal sometime during the Galactic Civil War when they were accidentally imported to the planet in a cargo of hanava fruit. They quickly multiplied and roamed the southern continent of the planet in swarms comprising around six million termites each. While not dangerous to the population, the bugs proved a threat to Bethal's major export product, apoica trees.
