The Greater Plooriod Cluster, also known as the Plooriods, was a star cluster located within the Greater Plooriod and Ploo sectors, in the Northern Dependencies portion of the Expansion Region.

History

The Plooriods contained many agricultural worlds that supplied food for the Galactic Empire. It also included the planet Corsin, where swoop races took place.

The Greater Plooriod Cluster was ruled by Overlord Ghorin, who shortly after the Battle of Yavin, agreed to supply the Rebel Alliance with grain. The grain had been tainted.

Following the disaster at Deepspace Besh, the Rebel Alliance stepped up raids and military action in an effort to keep the Imperial Navy off balance. As part of this strategy, the Rebel Alliance launched several raids in the Plooriods, including one in the Corsin system.^[2]

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, indicated in June 2015 that the Greater Plooriod Cluster was excluded from The Essential Atlas Online Companion because it was a geographic feature bigger than a sector.^[11]
