- "Item was discovered approximately seventy meters along the Grand Causeway, adjacent to a massive stone block presumably dislodged from the ceiling."
- ―Reginald Danfillo comments in the Smuggler's Guide
The Grand Causeway was a causeway on Pashvi that was at least partially covered by a stone roof. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the smuggler Tryphon Leo searched the causeway for the Shrove of the Left-Handed God Typhojem, which contained a buried vault of treasure hidden by the pirate Queen Maz Kanata.[1]
Leo—who had learned about the treasure cache from the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide—was killed approximately seventy meters along the causeway when a large chunk of rock fell from the ceiling and crushed him in front of a Typhojem Thrall. The smuggler's body was later discovered by the senior terrain trekker Reginald Danfillo as part of the Typhojem Excavation, who took the Smuggler's Guide from his corpse.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Grand Causeway was first mentioned in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, a 2018 reference book written by Daniel Wallace with illustrations of the causeway by Adrián Rodriguez.[1]
