"Within weeks of the first petitions and news stories about the unfolding "crisis in combined education" on Talus, new laws were passed to ensure human children were educated by themselves while "alien" children were brought together in much larger numbers to be taught separately."
―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]

Governor P'tan's Reforms was a file stored in the "Education" section of the Talus Archives that covered the xenophobic educational reforms implemented by Ili P'tan, the Imperial Planetary Governor of the Core Worlds planet Talus. P'tan's first change was to require schools to teach all classes in Basic instead of other languages. He then had students' grades manipulated via an algorithm and classes with a mix of species punished for being disruptive to make it appear that non-humans were a drain on the education system. There were soon news stories and petitions created about what was called the "crisis in combined education," and within weeks laws were passed to segregate schools on Talus. Human children were segregated from non-humans and educated by themselves, while non-humans, including Selonians and Drall, were taught together in larger numbers away from humans.[1] In 35 ABY,[2] the historian Beaumont Kin cited the file when[1] he[3] mentioned P'tan's reforms in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]
