The governing council was a body in the New Republic including senators such as Leia Organa. Agent Joris Vegen presented a briefing to them on what she had discovered on the prison planet Wobani after it was abandoned by the Galactic Empire. Once it became clear that emergency aid was needed, Organa contacted the Alderaan Flotilla to deliver a convoy of supplies.[1]
