Gold 1 was the designation of a BTL-A4 Y-wing in service to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. It was flown by Jon "Dutch" Vander and had previously been designated as Specter 1 when the starfighter had been part of Specter Squadron and stationed at Renforra Base.[1] Gold 1 was destroyed by Darth Vader during the Battle of Yavin when Vander attempted to launch proton torpedoes into the Death Star's thermal exhaust port.[4]
