- "Approaching drop zone. Everyone stay tight."
"Remember, you've only got one shot at this."
"Bombs away." - ―Goji and Anakin Skywalker, as the former releases the electro-proton bomb
Goji was a clone trooper pilot who was the leader of Red Squadron in the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. He flew a BTL-B Y-wing starfighter marked with the colors of Red Squadron at the Battle of Malastare.
Biography
In 22 BBY,[5] Red Squadron leader[4] Goji and clone gunner Rod were temporarily incorporated into the Republic forces on Malastare when the Separatists invaded. Their Y-wing was loaded with a prototype weapon known as an electro-proton bomb, which was successfully released on target, creating a massive electromagnetic pulse that deactivated or destroyed all the droid forces gathered on Malastare.[2]
Personality and traits
As a bomber pilot, Goji possessed innate skill and extensive training in delivering weapons, such as the electro-proton bomb, accurately to their targets.[4]
Behind the scenes
As with every clone trooper in The Clone Wars TV series, Goji was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. Hasbro released its 3-3/4" Goji action figure in 2010.[2][4]
Goji's name and the markings on his helmet are a tribute to the Japanese name 'Gojira'(ゴジラ), known more commonly in English as Godzilla.[6]
