Glowflies were a type of fly that buzzed and flickered.[1] Between 229 BBY and 228 BBY,[2] the former Nihil pirate Krix Kamerat returned to a room in an abandoned apartment building where he and the former Jedi Padawan Ruu were interrogating the Nihil Haakon Pav. After entering the room, Kamerat thought about how the faulty power cell in the lantern lighting the room was buzzing and flickering like glowflies trapped in a bottle.[1]
Behind the scenes
Glowflies were mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Chronicles of Corellia: Heir Apparent," a short story by Alyssa Wong that was published in the 227th issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine[1] on August 27, 2024, as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, a glowfly appeared in a flashback in the 2004 novel Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, written by Sean Stewart and published as part of the Clone Wars multimedia project.[4]

"Chronicles of Corellia: Heir Apparent" — Star Wars Insider 227
- ↑ "Chronicles of Corellia: Heir Apparent" takes place between The High Republic Adventures (2021) 3 and The High Republic Adventures: Crash and Burn. As The High Republic Adventures 3 takes place one year after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and Crash and Burn in 228 BBY per the reasoning here, "Chronicles of Corellia: Heir Apparent" must be set between 229 BBY and 228 BBY per the reasoning here.
