"We could…go to the Glarus Lagoons together, the next time we're home."
"You and me."
"If you'd like."
―Kier Domadi and Leia Organa[2]

The Glarus Lagoons, or Glarus lagoon, were located on the Core Worlds planet Alderaan. In 3 BBY, Apprentice Legislator Kier Domadi suggested visiting the Glarus Lagoons to his peer, the Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa. The lagoons had been destroyed at some point by 1 BBY when Alderaan was annihilated by the Death Star battle station.

Description

The Glarus Lagoons,[2] also referred to as the Glarus lagoon,[3] were located in a balmy region of the Core Worlds planet Alderaan. The lagoons featured several swimming areas and were home to sea life.[2]

By the time of the Imperial Era, the Glarus Lagoons had become known for their spectacular scenery, romantic atmosphere, and sunshine.[2] In 3 BBY,[4] the Apprentice Legislator Kier Domadi suggested visiting the Glarus Lagoons to his peer, the Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa. As Organa considered the proposition, she noticed Domadi's nervous demeanor after asking her. When the princess agreed that she would enjoy a trip to the lagoons with him, Domadi smiled.[2]

The Glarus Lagoons had been destroyed at some point by 1 BBY when the rest of Alderaan was annihilated[1] by the Galactic Empire's Death Star battle station.[5] An illustration of the Glarus Lagoons was included a map of Alderaan made by the artist Gammit Chond, which was included in an updated version of the Galactic Atlas book published by the Graf Archive at some point no earlier than 35 ABY.[6]

Behind the scenes

The Glarus Lagoons were first mentioned in Leia, Princess of Alderaan, a 2017 young-adult novel written by Claudia Gray.[2] They were first pictured in the 2025 reference book Star Wars: Galactic Atlas: Updated Edition, written by Emil Fortune and Paddy Kempshall and illustrated by Tim McDonagh.[6] The Glarus Lagoons partially share their name with both the Glarus Valley and the Glarus Bridges, two locations on Alderaan that were introduced to the Star Wars Legends continuity in the 2011 BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[7][8]
