A Ginmid mercenary army[1] made up exclusively of members of the Ginmid species served under the leadership of the Ginmid Tommet Sozach for a time. The army eventually disbanded when the prospect of a lasting peace in the galaxy arose,[2] with Sozach choosing to break out on his own when those predictions proved correct.[1]
By the time war broke out between the Resistance and the First Order, most of the mercenary soldiers who had previously served with the army were already retired.[2] Even though this meant most of his best soldiers had probably retired, Sozach, who[1] by 35 ABY[3] was working as a personal defense instructor, still sometimes had to fight off pangs of remorse about disbanding the group.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Ginmid mercenary army was first mentioned in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
