"Ghost star, wonder where you are,
Ghost star, are you very far?
All night long, I will sing your song if you watch over me.
Ghost star, hiding in the night.
All your friends are all so bright.
When the sky is clear, I can sense you near, looking down on me.
Ghost star, silent in the sky,
Now I start to wonder why.
Show me your light, I've waited all night.
Ghost star, won't you sing with me?
"
―Bode Akuna and Kata Akuna[1]

Ghost Star was a lullaby sung by Kata Akuna and her father Bode Akuna[1] in 9 BBY.[2]

Behind the scenes

Ghost Star first appeared in Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which released on April 28, 2023.[1] It was written by Lead Writer Danny Homan.[3] The song was inspired by the Eugene Field poem, "Wyken, Blynken, and Nod," which his mother sang to him growing up. After first writing lyrics, the melody went through several iterations. It began in a major key before Homan decided to change to a minor key based on input from the music team. He recorded a demo tape on guitar, which he sent to Kata voice actor Tajinae Turner.[4]
