The Gelda system was a star system that was located within the Carrion sector in the New Territories portion of the Outer Rim Territories. The system was connected by the Relgim Run hyperlane to the Delephr and Endoraan systems.[1]

The Gelda system fell within the borders of the Pentastar Alignment between 4 ABY and 12 ABY, and was a part of the Imperial Remnant between 18 ABY and 35 ABY.[1] The system was the origin point of the Geldan sun-apples.[2][3]

Behind the scenes

The Gelda system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, which placed the system in grid square J-4.[1]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Geldan sun-apples in relation to the Gelda system.
