Gelatin Surprise was a gelatinous food created by the Latero chef and pilot Greez Dritus,[1] who often cooked for his crew in the kitchen of their luxury yacht, the Stinger Mantis.[2] When the gelatinous dish was pushed against, it had a slight resistance that felt as if it pushed back. According to Dritus' Jedi Knight crewmate, Cal Kestis, who regarded the dish as "infamous," the surprise was that it was full of salt.[1]
When the crew infiltrated a base of the Haxion Brood criminal syndicate,[1] sometime between 12 BBY and 11 BBY,[3] Kestis was forced to enter the asteroid base from space. As the helmet of Kestis' spacesuit made contact with the base's shield bubble, he related the resistance he experienced to that of Greez's Gelatin Surprise.[1]
Behind the scenes
