- "I don't understand why we have to go all the way across the sector to retrieve the parts. I thought there was a small base on Ptertiuin 3. [sic] Why couldn't they handle it?"
- ―A Rebel
The Galpos sector was a sector of space[1] that contained the planets Friazel 7, Pfertiuin 4,[2] and Viska.[3][1]
Behind the scenes
The Galpos sector was first mentioned in "Hide and Go Seek," a 1990 roleplaying game adventure written by Glen Allison as a supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in the twelfth issue of the Voyages SF magazine.[2]
It was later mentioned in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a source article written by Glen Allison and published in the thirteenth issue of the Voyages SF magazine. The article placed the Firro, Friazel, Galpos, Pfertiuin (spelled as the "Pfertium" system), Sagma, Tolaniisi and Varl systems in the sector.[1] The Voyages SF article "A Day at the Auction" places the Tolaniisi system in the "transition zone between the developed core region and the outer rim".[4]
Since this article was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process, it is non-canon,[5] and the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas has since instead placed the Firro, Galpos, Sagma, and Varl systems in other sectors.[6]
