During the reign of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Courts of Justice was a gray-colored building located in the Federal District of Galactic City, the ecumenopolis that covered the planet Coruscant. The top of the building consisted of a large central spire surrounded by four smaller spires and emerged above the top of Level 5127, the highest level of the city during the Naboo Crisis[1] of 32 BBY.[2] The courts were located several blocks away from the Diplomat Hotel with the City Municipal Authorities Building also found nearby.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Galactic Courts of Justice were mentioned in reprinted material in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the courts first appeared as the "Imperial Justice Court" in the 1996 novel X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble, which was written by Michael A. Stackpole.[3] The courts were then first pictured and identified as the Galactic Courts of Justice in the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund with illustrations by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen.[4] It was this material that was reprinted in Complete Locations.[1]
