Gailea was a planet[3] located in the Gailea system of the Core Worlds.[1] It was the site of the location Femon[2] and the Marqua Spas,[3] the latter of which hosted the renowned and exclusive annual Marqua Spas Grand Ball. On the date 37:1:13, a news report by TriNebulon News was issued from Femon that covered an incident where the Human floubette dance perfomer Jantaa Binx had begun performing at that year's Marqua Spas Grand Ball—only to be escorted off the Spas' premises due to the audience finding the interpretation by a Human of the traditionally avian-performed dance to be shocking and upsetting.[2]

Behind the scenes

Gailea was introduced by Paul Sudlow in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" feature of the ninth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal, which was published in February 1996.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Gailea system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square M-12.[1]
