Gafsa was a canyon[1] in the South Jundland Wastes region on Tatooine, a desert planet in the Outer Rim Territories.[2] Gafsa contained at least one water well. Rare wells like that were consider sacred to the Tusken Raiders, and trespassing could lead to swift violence.[1]

Behind the scenes

Gafsa was first mentioned in the canon continuity in Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition, a reference book released in 2018. It later appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. It is identified in the game by Imperial communications about the player's last seen location while they have a wanted level. As such that exact boundaries of Gafsa are not easily identified within the game.[2]

Gafsa was mentioned and later appeared in the Legends continuity in the Star Wars: Republic comic series by Dark Horse Comics.[3]
