GM12-L1 was a blue L-1g general purpose droid that was repurposed as a labor droid and forced to work as the landing-pad operations droid in the criminal Pyke Syndicate's spice mines on the planet Kessel during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[3] In 10 BBY,[4] GM12-L1 was carrying a backpack full of kesselstone when it was freed from slavery when its restraining bolt was removed during a slave revolt in the mines started by the droid L3-37.[3]
Behind the scenes
GM12-L1 first appeared in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story[3] and was first identified in the accompanying reference book Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
