The Futility Station system was a star system located in an outlying region of the Brak sector,[4] within the Expansion Region of the galaxy.[1] It contained a small airless moon, which was the location of a failed mining survey site known as "Futility Station" that later became a Rebel Alliance safehouse.[2]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Futility Station in relation to the Futility Station system.
