The funeral of Shmi Skywalker Lars took place in 22 BBY, shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars. After his mother, Shmi Skywalker Lars, was kidnapped by Tusken Raiders, Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker raided a Tusken camp in an attempt to find her, but arrived too late to prevent her death. The funeral took place soon after at the homestead Skywalker Lars has shared with her husband, Cliegg Lars. It was attended by Cliegg and Owen Lars, Beru Whitesun, Padmé Amidala, C-3PO, and Skywalker, who wrapped and carried her body to the gravesite.

Owen Lars later removed the headstones.
