"Articles may only be granted to unidentified battle droids who play a significant plot role or who have significant dialogue." This droid didn't do anything, just stood there.

- Per my argument below, these really shouldn't even apply to the Notability policy's droids clause, and virtually any tactical droid is notable by its very existence. This particular droid has just about the bare minimum of notability regardless. He doesn't just stand there. No dialogue, but he does oversee the Separatist takeover of Hondo's base, and Grievous personally addresses him to issue orders once the fighting begins. "Articles may only be granted to unidentified battle droids who play a significant plot role or who have significant dialogue." This tactical droid said one line, that's it. No significant plot role or actions.--Shoretrooper TK-32028 (talk) 15:05, February 20, 2018 (UTC)

- First of all, I would contend that tactical droids are not technically battle droids and therefore don't apply to the Notability policy's battle droids clause. Maybe I'm wrong and there's another source that says otherwise (and remember, these articles are Legends subjects), but Essential Guide to Warfare defines them differently from traditional battle droids and clearly seems to place them in a separate category. I would certainly argue, as co-author of the droids clause, that this policy was not meant to apply to these types of articles. That policy is intended for the many faceless, nameless Unidentified B1 battle droid 9 (Malevolence) cases. But since these tactical droids have been placed on the chopping block in any event, I'm game — Individual tactical droids are pretty much notable by their very existence. They are basically droid generals, essentially assigned one per starship or battle, and clearly have demonstrated individuality. I think I would be very comfortable with providing articles for virtually any tactical droid that shows up, but I absolutely think they should be given articles if they have dialogue, such as this droid. This is a droid officer in charge of the Christophsis battle. If this was an unidentified organic, we wouldn't even think twice. The fact that he's a droid doesn't make him less notable; the fact that he's a tactical droid in fact makes him notable. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:50, February 20, 2018 (UTC)

- Per my argument above, these really shouldn't even apply to the Notability policy's droids clause, and virtually any tactical droid is notable by its very existence. We aren't given much to go on for this particular droid, but what we are given is fairly significant. The episode's trivia gallery (slide 5) specifically calls out this droid as one of multiple high-level Republic prisoners. You don't get put in that Coruscant military prison unless you're a big deal. That's significant plot details and multiple sources referencing the subject. Should be kept.
