Sludge (talk - history - links - logs)

This is used only in a metaphorical sense. The only place "sludge" appears in Dark Journey is the following sentence: "Han gave his wife a quick kiss and then poured himself another cup of sludge." Enochf 00:51, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

  3. It's essentially a slang term for coffee or caf or coffeine or stimcaf or vine-coffee or vine-coffeine. (Wow, I never put those all in one place before.) -- Darth Culator (Talk) 00:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
  4. Wipe it from the face of the server. π = 3 Sith Emblem (Talk to me, babe.) 01:02, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Is there anything in the text to indicate that it is slang for coffee specifically, and not a reference to any sort of hot liguid which is kind of sludgy? Is there anything to indicate that it is not a specific beverage? Also, since the word appears in the narrative text rather than in dialogue, can we be sure that it is IU slang? Is it a term used OU by English speakers? (since I'm not a native speaker, I can't be sure) If that's the case though, then we are probably not dealing with a specific beverage, but then we are not dealing with an IU slang expression either. I don't think there is enough to justify the inclusion of the term into the list of slang expressions. I'm not sure I'd delete the article itself, but I don't see any reason to keep it either.
