Skywalker epoch (talk - history - links - logs)
Per the recent Senate Hall discussion here, I have decided to begin a TC on this article. All articles and whatnot linking to the page or using it in some form have been taken care of by Jedimasterfiolli, so the only thing that matters here is whether we keep this page.
The issue is this: the page Skywalker epoch claims to be an in-universe time period spanning period in which the Skywalker family has lived. Upon searching through the only source to apparently use the name, the Tales of the Jedi Companion, I have not found any evidence of this. In fact, the two instances in which "Skywalker Epoch" is used doesn't even make it clear whether the term is in-universe. You can read the two sentences that use the term and my arguments against their being in-universe in the above Senate Hall thread, but basically, the first time it is used it is clearly for OOU purposes. The second time it is used it is less clear, but to me it also seems to be used in an OOU manner. Additionally, we have no idea when this era takes place. If we keep this article and purge it of the fanon it currently contains, all that would be left is "Skywalker epoch was an era." I see no use in keeping this article, especially when it's highly unlikely that's it's even in-universe. To me, it seems like this term was just a short-hand the author used to refer to the movie era. Fiolli has already done the task of delinking this page and replacing it with a conjecturally-titled Post-Imperial Period, so we shouldn't be worried about losing a potential in-universe era. Anyway, that's what I have to say about it. It's time we finally got rid of this article. Xicer9(Combadge) 22:07, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

- I agree completely. This seems to be nothing short of an OOU clarification or phrase that, while apt and descriptive, is not IU. Plus the one vague thing, if I remember correctly, could maybe be possibly attributed to have been stated by Ood Bnar— yeah… — Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 22:14, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Does seem OOU to me as well. If it does turn out to be real in some future source, we can always recreate it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 22:20, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

- If it were Skywalker era, or Skywalker stratum, maybe, but Skywalker epoch? No thanks! ;P ~ SavageBob 23:11, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

- I might have voted "keep" under the Wookieepedia:Notability of fan projects rules if this were in widespread use in the fandom, but the only uses of this phrase I found in a websearch were a couple of message board threads, Wookieepedia, and various copies of Wookieepedia. The Senate Hall thread which preceded this discussion is the number 2 hit on Google. I'd also vote keep if this were a well-defined canonical thing only known through an OOU nickname...but it probably isn't. —Silly Dan (talk) 03:27, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
