Reverse Shien grip (talk - history - links - logs)

I came across this article today and honestly do we really need a separate minor article regarding information that could be mentioned in the Form V: Shien / Djem So article? Since this reserve grip is just a style of Shien, the Shien section within the Form V article could use the information. And in my opinion, that Shien section could use some beefing up as well. The "notable users" are mentioned in the Form V article, so it should not be a problem by merging the current TC'd article with the Form V. Not to mention, Galen and his reserve grip is one of the images in the Form V article. What do you guys think?

Delete

  1. I've argued this in the past, and it always speculatively returns. Has the continuity ever established a specific connection between reverse grip and shien? Starkiller uses reverse grip, but if you pay attention to the animations (in the first game, at least,) all of the Shien-named strikes were normal-gripped. I don't think reverse-grip is an indicator of shien, nor do I think it's shien exclusive. I suspect that the connection between reverse grip and shien is, itself, either coincidental or pure speculation. And therefore, the content of the article in question is largely speculative, and shouldn't be merged at all. At least, not without sourced evidence supporting a specific connection between the two. Keep

  1. Per SinSam --- the article was created by an anon earlier this year with a conjecture tag at the top in what was seemingly a guess that it fell under Shien. Without any canonical evidence supporting that assumption, this article shouldn't be merged into Shien. Although I think it's a unique enough style to warrant its own article.
