Neimoidian Council Members (talk - history - links - logs)
This article was speedied not too long ago because it was a blanket generalization. However, as per a discussion with SlashMan, we do have other articles such as these floating around the wiki. To be honest, I'm not sure we have a clear-cut policy regarding group articles like this. If we don't we need to decide on one. So, I'm TCing this to bring some awareness to it. If it goes, then other similar group articles should be hunted down and exterminated just the same. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:08, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
Delete, make separate articles for each individual
I was the one who flagged this for CSD. This is a nonsense blanket that assumes they're some kind of council, and uses that unfounded assumption to create an article and a title for them. Says who? Maybe the one on the left is Gunray's concubine and the one on the right is his brother Jeff. These are four Neimoidians, full stop. Delete, and delete other articles like it. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 20:28, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- I've voted for options like this in the past, and I will continue to do so. The individuals are unique, and that says to me that they get an article. Corellian Premier

- Redirect to Trade Federation Occupation Council, and create articles for the individuals. Any canonical character can have an article, no matter how unnotable Unidentified Gotal (Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina)|they are. Alexsau1991 (talk page)

Discussion
- I'm not gonna vote on its fate yet. I'd rather see what others think, first. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:08, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- It should be split. Every other article like it should also be split. Menkooroo 03:16, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Suddenly it's an article on a council instead of an article on four council members. Is there anything to suggest that this is a council? The idea that these four Neimoidians are any kind of collective "council" seems like complete speculation. Menkooroo 03:20, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Not entirely sure. All I moved was the TC page. As I said above, it was speedied before, but after some discussion, I decided that it was best to restore it and put it up for TC. Let it be handled the proper way. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:29, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Isn't the article being discussed essentially the same as this article? If so, they were described as a council in the Phantom Menace novel. Alexsau1991 (talk page)

- Wow, good find. That's exactly the same topic. I don't think they're notable enough to have individual articles, but maybe we can keep the article Alex found. Cade Calrayn

- If this is indeed the case, then a simple redirect should do the trick. Run it by SlashMan and see if he can corroborate with that. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:39, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with what's been said so far. I've never noticed this article before (as the more elaborate name probably comes from the novel), but the additional information does add more.-SlashMan 15:53, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

- I notice that the article does not have a {{Conjecture}} tag. Is "Neimoidian Council" an actual canonical name that has been established to refer to there four characters? If so, then it should be kept based solely on the fact that it's a canon proper name. —MJ— Council Chambers Friday, May 25, 2012, 18:34 UTC
- I would agree with this and withdraw my Delete vote. But only if we have some way of verifying that these four individuals belong to said Council, if that's even a canonical name. If we can't confirm both of those, I still say delete. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 20:29, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- The script only says "Four Neimoidian Council Members," which is why I used the Neimoidian Council term to include all of them. Can anyone verify any of the other names, though?-SlashMan 20:34, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- So that's one of the two questions then; we ought to have/keep a "Neimoidian Council" article for sure. But can anyone confirm that these four random Neimoidians are, indeed, the same ones that that feature in whatever source you read that (I assume the novelization) ? Because if we can't, they're just four random Neimoidians that happened to be on Naboo with or at the time of the invasion and assigning them to the Council article would be an assumption we can't make. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 23:39, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
- My source is the script, which corresponds with their appearance in the movie. I can try checking the novel for further input on their appearance, however, I do not have The New Essential Guide to Characters (the original article's source) to confirm that article's further story for the article. As far as I know, no one has the scoop on their purpose in the deleted scene pictured on their page.-SlashMan 00:16, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

- Question: where exactly is the Redirect option suggesting this be redirected? Does that option also allow for a split into individual character articles? There are a couple votes that individually suggest potential resolutions to both of these things, but the voting option itself says nothing on either matter. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 14:26, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
