List of use of Aurebesh (history - links - logs - delete - protect)

This list is effectively a list of trivia that should be included on the Aurebesh page, and functions mostly as a more detailed appearances section. It is unnecessary to have a separate page. I am proposing that we move the page's Canon information to Aurebesh and its Legends information to Aurebesh/Legends, whichever is appropriate, and then delete the list.

  5. What this page really is, is the "History" sections of the two Aurebesh pages, just in un-prosified list form. Rightfully, all of this content should be beautified and turned into prose, which then inarguably belongs in those two Aurebesh pages, not in a randomly separate "list of" article.   8. Someone on Discord mentioned how this is like a fleshed out list of "Appearances." I have to agree with this assessment and therefore it makes sense to have this list on the actual page instead of a separate one. Wok142 (talk) 19:25, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

  13. This really only exists as a translator for times it visually appears in media. We already have the alphabet translated into English on the respective articles, so readers can easily translate things themselves. Therefore, the only other purpose this page serves can be done more professionally in the respective articles' "History" and "Behind the scenes" sections. Keep

I hate to go against the majority here, and I hate even more trivial lists for everything. But I believe we accept lists here as long as they're comprehensive, organized and ultimately useful as this one is. I do not see how this list affects the Aurebesh articles nor do I understand how you can claim that this is "mostly as a more detailed appearances section" as it clearly isn't. An appearances list is the name of sources, this article describes every single (or most) occurrence within a source and its translation, representing hard work from several contributors. We are merging this information with the Aurebesh articles merely to have another list but within their articles (which will grow to a massize size) only for said list to overwhelm all other more relevant information to the alphabet articles such as the Bts, direct mentions to Aurebesh and its other relevant sections.   • Toprawa's point about adding it as prose to the history section is sound, but obviously it will not contain ALL occurrences (or even half) of Aurebesh on (OOU) screen which is what that List article aimed to do; hence its usefulness to the community. As for a "fleshed out" appearances section: that makes no sense. The list article should not be blamed for the incomplete lists of Appearances/sources sections in the respective articles, nor does it anything like our LG-sponsored appearances section. It's a list detailing every time Aurebesh appears and translating it, organizing it by sources from its own OOU POV. Winterz (talk) 19:55, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
  • I agree with Winterz that we should find someplace to save the translations, if we do end up saying goodbye to this page. Those translations are useful information. SilverSunbird (talk) 20:55, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
    • Although I might argue that translating some of that OOU content is trivial, no one is stopping it from being merged into the in-universe articles' "Behind the scenes" sections. This alone shouldn't preclude this article's deletion. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:58, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
