Jay Little (talk - history - links - logs)
Do we really need an article on someone whose sole Star Wars contribution was to develop a game mechanic? I don't think so. Note that the Narrative Dice System link is red because I just speedy deleted that article as pure game mechanics. —MJ— Holocomm 21:44, August 22, 2013 (UTC)

This is like...having an article on Thomas Edison because he invented the motion picture camera and Star Wars is a motion picture. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:50, August 22, 2013 (UTC)- It's so ironic that we had this same discussion some time ago and the general consensus swung it in entirely different direction. Which is exactly what Trayus and MJ said in that CT thread: each individual TC should not be determined by whims of whatever you happen to like or dislike on that day. There's gotta be some clear rules on which articles are needed and which are not. Start with a rule for fan projects (done), then add the rule for English words, then IU subjects, then production stuff etc. Otherwise you're stuck with cases where despite the items being virtually identical in terms of usage A'Sharad Hett's lightsaber is nuked, but Savage Opress's lightsaber stays, because some people just felt like it. Keep
- He is one of the developers for EotE and worked on more than just the dice. He is listed in the credits for several of the FFGSW books. I just have been busy this week and haven't put everything in, thinking that someone else might help flesh out the information and not thinking that it would be put up for deletion without any fact checking. —GethralkinHyperwave 03:30, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Per discussion below, Jay has worked on canonical material and not just game mechanics, so I am changing my vote to keep. —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers 05:56, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- He's one of the authors of Edge of the Empire; keep. But strongly per Mauser above. Menkooroo (talk) 06:00, August 23, 2013 (UTC)

- Yeah, this is totally different now. So, no, Mauser, this isn't ironic at all. We're going to end up keeping this article for the same reason as in your linked-to TC from four years ago. Hooray for consistent standards without the need for an exclusive policy. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 07:08, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Correct. On a serious note, this totally should stay for the same reason as Chuck Kallenbach, I was misled by the original comment. Editors and game designers are totally notable. Guys who manage the printing and distribution though... LOST-Malachi (talk) 07:48, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- I initially wanted to delete, but definitely per above.—Cal Jedi

- Well in this case, yeah. Since he's the author we should definitely beef this thing up. Corellian Premier

Discussion
- If that person is a designer and contributed more to the game than just a "sole contribution" of building dice and there are plenty of interviews with him about the game and how it was developed, then yes, I think he merits an article. —GethralkinHyperwave 04:23, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- The article has now been expanded, and the only change this makes to my nomination comments above is to change "a game mechanic" to simply "game mechanics" in the plural. We should be documenting only those who have contributed to canon, and designing game mechanics is not contributing to canon. —MJ— Training Room 04:52, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Being an editor of the adventure books doesn't count then? I was pretty certain that was rather important. —GethralkinHyperwave 04:55, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Editing an adventure book would qualify, as he would be handling and potentially influencing the plot, which is canonical material. However, the article does not currently claim any credits except developing game mechanics. —MJ— Comlink 05:04, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- I will fix that, because I missed that it didn't get added in. Thought it was there (just had my prescription changed by some substitute eye doctor who gave me something totally wrong, so I am without glasses for another week or so). —GethralkinHyperwave 05:15, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Much better, and I just verified that with my own copy of the Beginner Game. Thanks. —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers 05:56, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Np. Also, I just reviewed the video documentary, and it shows that he is the Senior Lead Designer. —GethralkinHyperwave 06:15, August 23, 2013 (UTC)
