Imperial remnants (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This page was brought up in the discussion regarding merging "the rebellion" into the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The point raised was that if we are not going to have a single page representing all pre-Alliance rebel cells and explaining what a rebel cell is, then why do we have a page explaining what separate Imperial remnants are? That's a fair question.
The information contained on this page can be put into a Legacy/Post-Collapse/whatever you want to call it section on Galactic Empire, as well as the pages for the various Imperial remnants. However, unlike in Legends, there is no single "Imperial Remnant" and these remnants in canon are generally at odds with one another, so there is no need to have a page for it as if it is one single organization. It is most generally represented by Gallius Rax's forces, Mas Amedda's pretend government, and ultimately the First Order.
Deleting the page outright isn't necessary, so I think we can convert it into a disambiguation page. The voting options reflect this. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:07, October 28, 2017 (UTC)

- I think the parallels between this and the early rebellion are deliberate, and so it would make sense that we treat this in a similar light to that page. - Tommy-Macaroni

And couldn't the same be argued for Separatist holdouts then? I don't see the difference other than one representing the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the other the Empire. Both have been referenced throughout the canon timeline. Reddyredcp (talk) 17:28, October 28, 2017 (UTC)
- I think this TC could potentially set a precedent for what to do with that page too, but let's take this one step at a time. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:33, October 28, 2017 (UTC)
- Understood. Only wanted to mention it for future consideration. Reddyredcp (talk) 17:34, October 28, 2017 (UTC)
- For sure, it's a good question to ask. That's a larger conversation due to the existence of a directly corresponding Legends page, something that hasn't been the case with rebel cells or Imperial remnants (since Imperial Remnant is not directly corresponding given that was an actual single governmental entity). - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:34, October 28, 2017 (UTC)

- Wouldn't this be the best move too for rebel cell, create that page with the listing of all cells in canon and legeneds. Because it would not be easy for a regular visitor to use categories
- That exists at Rebel cell (disambiguation) (which will soon be moved back to Rebel cell). - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:31, October 28, 2017 (UTC)
- I'd like to see the Disambig voting option remove the requirement to include Legends remnants in this disambig page. The term "Imperial remnants" is a Canon-specific thing, and I don't think it's really accurate to treat this in such a general way that it lists Legends topics as well. If there's a certain need to have a Legends disambig page for Imperial remnants (which I don't think there is, because they were much more unified than their Canon counterparts, so it's much easier to group all that stuff properly under major articles like Pentastar Alignment, etc.), then that should be done under a different title. - Okay I didn't see that. Yeah, the subject between continuities is very different and mixing them in one disambig page would just be confusing. - Tommy-Macaroni

- Fine with me. The intention was more to list Imperial Remnant but that could be done with a "See also." - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:40, October 30, 2017 (UTC)
- The 'see also' idea sounds good to me! - Tommy-Macaroni
