Guillotine (history - links - logs - delete - protect)

In The Rancor Keeper's Tale and Imperial Commando: 501st, guillotine is not actually referring to an in-universe device, but is simply used to give the reader an idea of how a door crashed down. The same is true in Fatal Alliance, although in this case "like a guillotine" is referring to someone winking. Mindharp mentions guillotine, but that is it, no GFFA description, although it is lumped in with disintegration chamber, nerve rack, and electric chair (this whole article is simply Wikipedia). In SkyeWalkers: A Clone Wars Story, guillotine is used to describe that two blood suckers switched their blade arms to decapitate, and and Halagad moved to intercept the pair of "horizontal guillotines". Guillotine isn't unique in the GFFA, but is simply used to describe a downward motion, or the fact that blades were moved horizontally to decapitate.

You're mistaken in saying that guillotine "is simply used to describe a downward motion, etc." The mention in Mindharp is not used as an intangible simile in the same way that the other sources do. This is the passage: "The life-orchards themselves were nearly as famous—after the manner of guillotines, disintegration chambers, nerve racks, and electric chairs. It was not the sort of agriculture amenable to automation—the crystals were harvestable only under the most debilitating and menial of conditions." Whether or not its application is identical to the real world, this is explicitly an in-universe device used for execution, held in similar regard to other such in-universe execution devices, so I believe it deserves an article. If the Mindharp mention didn't exist and this decision were left to the other mentions, I would vote to delete, but as it stands, I'm voting this way.
