The result of the debate was merge content to Wikipedia and Wookieepedia, redirect to one of them (at the merger's discretion). - Sikon 17:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC).

Great LucasCruft Purge (talk - history - links - logs)
Non-notable. Not only does this article violate WP:ASR (which is fixable), but it's about a one-time VFD-fest perpetrated by a single disgruntled Wikipedian that is non-notable on Wikipedia itself, let alone larger context. - Sikon 08:14, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Keep
- If it's notable enough to have a name, then I think it's notable enough. Yes, it was a one-time event, but it's of historical relevance (sort of) to this site. Also, it does not violate WP:ASR (see the "Writing about Wookieepedia itself" section). - Esjs 08:33, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have a name. Am I notable? .... 10:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- If you vote keep simply because it's of historical importance to this site, then it should be merged with the article about this site. - Sikon 13:13, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- What I'm saying is, if I was somebody who had never heard of the Great LucasCruft Purge and I saw it mentioned somewhere with no explanation, I might think "Huh. I wonder what that is. Surely Wookieepedia knows." Then I come here and type it into the search box, expecting to see its own article. I realize you may find this to be a weak argument, but it's my point of view and it's why I'm voting keep in 2007. - Esjs 14:35, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- "Great LucasCruft Purge" is a term invented by Wookieepedians for use on Wookieepedia. You won't find it anywhere else. - Sikon 14:58, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm pretty sure the term originates on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:User talk:LtNOWIS#GRider and the Great LucasCruft Purge. -LtNOWIS 19:30, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Merge
- Merge to Wikipedia, if we're keeping that article. —Silly Dan (talk) 11:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Mention on both Wikipedia and Wookieepedia. --Azizlight 14:39, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

- My original vote was basically a "merge" vote anyway. jSarek 23:25, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Merge to Wikipedia. We can't get rid of it altogether! Darth Seth 17:31, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Keep but merge and redirect to Wookieepedia article.--Valin Kenobi 17:50, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Per Azizlight, but redirect to Wookieepedia. -LtNOWIS 19:47, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- I know that voting Keep would be useless, but we can merge it to both Wikipedia and Wookieepedia. And I did in fact invent that term if only to save articles. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:18, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- I guess, per jSarek, it was technically a merge vote anyway. Just, we probably don't need it discussed in such detail. - Lord Hydronium 05:15, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

I'd say "Merge" to Wookieepedia, as it has some relevance to, er, that site, but most of the info isn't even relevant there. Baleet and make a brief mention on the Wookieepedia page. Lord Hydronium 08:33, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Per Hydro (though I'm not sure that this doesn't technically constitute a "Merge" vote anyway). jSarek 10:22, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Comments
- How is this not relevant to Wookieepedia's history? This is what the site off the ground. For the first couple weeks, we were all about saving VfD'd articles on Wikipedia. In fact, we weren't sure if we wanted to even touch major topics.[1] For the first couple months, most of our articles were copied from Wikipedia. Before the Purge, the site was open for less than a week and had maybe a couple articles. This is what opened the floodgate of content and contributors.-LtNOWIS
Okay, where to redirect?
If the result is merge, should we redirect it to Wikipedia or Wookieepedia? - Sikon 12:53, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
