Emperor's Guardsmen (talk - history - links - logs)
It's more like a glorified disambiguation page with no real canon basis for term that I'm aware of. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 20:32, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

- No canonical evidence for such term ever being used. Mauser 20:41, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- If no canonical use exists, even a redirect would be inappropriate. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:57, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- If we want to make a disambig page, it should have at least a remotely canon name or something someone would actually think to search for, or it's useless. If we want to group those all together somehow, we should make a category for them, but this should just be deleted. Wildyoda 05:55, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Keep as disambiguation page
- I'm not sure it should be at this particular title, but there should be SOME page that disambiguates the Senate Guard, Imperial Senate Guard, Emperor's Royal Guard, Emperor's Shadow Guard, Imperial Sovereign Protectors, Emperor's Imperial Sentinels, and probably several others I've forgotten precisely because we don't have such a page. jSarek 11:54, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Per jSarek. A disambig would be helpful, provided it's at a better title. Grand Moff Tranner

- Per jSarek, plus this page already refers to TFU OOU within the text, so it was likely meant to be a disambig anyway. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:58, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Could be swayed on this. Atarumaster88

- Well, if it's a glorified disambiguation page, why not make it a disambiguation page? IFYLOFD (And now, young Skywalker, you will die.) 17:36, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Comments
- I agree about the need for some sort of disambiquation, but not under this title, as AFAIK it haven't been canonically used anywhere. Mauser 14:25, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Mauser. I'd change my vote to a disambiguation page if someone can suggest an adequate canonical name. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:58, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- That's part of the problem; I'm not sure there IS a single canonical name that would cover ALL of these folks neatly, other than maybe "Guards." "Federal guards," maybe? They're all assigned to the central government, though the fact that that government transitioned from Republic to Empire in the interim makes calling them complicates things. jSarek 01:30, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- The way I see it, if they can't be easily grouped under a logical name, they don't need to be grouped together. We got rid of that template for Luke's childhood friends because it was really just an attempt to put together in one place all the people from one deleted scene from the original movie. This is just doing the same thing with every type of enemy that looks relatively alike from The Force Unleashed game. Wildyoda 00:58, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

- It's also worth pointing out that if this title was kept as a disambig, it couldn't cover Senate Guard or Senate Commando because they existed before there was an Emperor. Thus, it would merely cover the others jSarek listed above, which are all conveniently located here anyway. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 01:07, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to see a disambig under "Guardsmen" or "Guards." IMO it really is useful to group them together so that it's easy to click around between them and see how they relate to each other (which organizations evolved into which other organizations, which are unrelated but serve similar purposes, etc).
