Hi,
Recently it came up in conversation that our Welcome template could use a bit of an update. I've taken a crack at that here. Primarily, some notes are that:
- Linking to a tutorial much higher up—attention spans are short.
- Pointing people to Discussions for a Star Wars forum—in the past, Wookieepedia wasn't at all a forum. The wiki part still isn't of course, but we should direct people to the forums instead of simply stating we're not a forum.
- Directly pointing people (with links) to the SH/CT/TC and stating that they're where we handle community matters, as well as indicating that their ideas can be presented there.
- Moving civility point upward a little bit.
- Merging point about userpages/signatures with talk page/forums, since signatures are used to talk on the latter.
More or less same content; a bit of tweaking, a bit more friendly. Would be interested to see if anyone else had ideas to improve this a bit as well; thoughts?—spookywillowwtalk 04:02, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
